I’m stuck between cherry and oak furniture

Ok internet, I’m redecorating our beach residence and I totally need your help on a truly crucial aesthetic question. Should I actually go with oak custom furniture or cherry custom furniture? I really enjoy wooden chairs and custom sofas, so I want to be sure I keep that wooden furniture aesthetic throughout the residence. I have painted the walls neutral colors so I know either cherry furniture or oak furniture would look superb. I’m really just having a difficult time deciding what style of wood furniture I would like to use. My initial idea was cherry furniture because I have used oak furniture previously. The thing is, I enjoyed the oak furniture a great deal. I know oak furniture gives a residence the sense of “home”. I remember oak wood furniture rather fondly because it’s the kind of wooden tables and wooden chairs that my Grandmother used to have when I was young. I suppose that cherry wood is much more popular today. Cherry furniture—especially glossy cherry furniture—provides a residence with a sense of completion. My best buddy described cherry furniture as the style of furniture that says, “an adult lives at this residence”. I don’t even know how true that is and I entirely guess that I’m a sizable kid at heart—although I want to make sure I’m making our beach residence look as good as possible. I appreciate any perspective anyone might have on the oak wood vs cherry wood topic and I would be more than happy to provide pictures or any needed information to make the decision a great deal easier. Thanks in advance for any assistance with this!
